MAM Software Group Hires Sales Execs

MAM Software, a business management solutions firm, has appointed Michael Moothart as National Sales Manager. Before joining MAM, Moothart served as an account executive at Crown Partners and as a business development manager at Hansen Information Technologies (now Infor). Earlier in his career, he worked as an aerospace engineer and in the sports car racing industry.

The company also appointed Jeff Carpenter as a Sales Representative for the Aftersoft Network division. He will be responsible for the sales end of Aftersoft's Point of Sale software solutions. Prior to MAM, Carpenter worked as a sales representative and software implementation specialist.

CEO Selected at Finnish IT Services Provider

Tieto announced the appointment of Kimmo Alkio, 48, as CEO effective November 2011. Alkio currently serves as the VP of Systems Integration and Networks at Nokia Corporation. Before Nokia, he was the Director of the European Service Provider business unit at Compaq Computer Corporation. Alkio has been on Tieto's Board for two years.         

Former Symantec Exec at Deltek

Deltek, a consulting & implementation services firm, announced that it has appointed Tom Mazich as the new EVP and GM of its GovCon business unit. In this position, Mazich will oversee sales for Deltek’s Costpoint, GCS Premier, and Enterprise Project Management product suites. He will also be responsible for managing Deltek's consulting services business. Most recently, Mazich was President at Mabec, an IT services business that he co-founded in 2008. Prior to Mabec, he served as VP and GM of Government Operations at the SAS Institute. Mazich has also held management positions at other notable software and technology companies, including Symantec, Comdisco Continuity Services, and Inference.

Chinese IT & BPO Firm Appoints New Board Member

HiSoft Technology International announced the appointment of Davy Lau as an Independent Director of the company's Board. In addition to his role as a Director, Lau will serve on HiSoft's audit committee and compensation committee. Lau is currently the manager of two private direct investment firms, DGL Group and Ocean Rich Group. Previously, Lau has served as Co-Managing Partner of the East Asia division of Egon Zehnder International. Before joining Egon Zehnder, he served as GM of GTECH in Asia and as VP of Citigroup's Information Business in Japan. Lau started his career as a sales technician at Computervision.

CIBER Gets New President

CIBER announced that Tom van den Berg, an 11-year veteran of the company, has been named EVP & President. Van den Berg joined in 1999 and most recently served as Managing Director of CIBER’s Netherlands business. Prior to CIBER, van den Berg held senior roles at CURVER, a plastics design specialist, and Plibrico, a US-based refractory manufacturer.

New Board Member at eCrypt

eCrypt Technologies, an IT security services company, announced the appointment of Dr. Erik Mettala as a Director on its Board. Currently, Mettala serves as the Cyber Chief Scientist in the National Security Global Business unit at the Battelle Memorial Institute. Prior to joining Battelle, he was the Chief Scientist in the National Security Systems Sector at SPARTA. Additionally, Mettala led McAfee Research from 2003 until its acquisition by SPARTA in 2005.

Vell is a member of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD), the Boston CEO Roundtable. She has served on the boards of Framingham State, Entrepreneur's Organization, Goodwill, Mary Centre for developmentally handicapped adults, garage.ca, and RBC Capital Partners.

She has received an MBA from the University of Toronto, a Master in Computer Science from the University of Waterloo, and a Bachelor in Computer Science from Carleton. She has also completed the MIT Entrepreneurial Master’s program.
