We are seeking a General Manager to drive growth for an Enterprise Software division of a F500 in the Stamford, CT area. The specific title is currently VP, Shipping and Transportation Management.

The General Manager will be charged to aggressively grow and improve the performance of its existing business and customer industry segments as well as be responsible for developing and implementing additional, long-range growth strategies focused on leveraging the company’s technology and financial assets into higher value added product lines.

Key experience attributes will be:
  • Prior General Management Experience growing a division of a large company. Did sales and partnerships (BD) report to you directly? How many people were in your sales/partnerships organization?
  • Experience managing growth: (1) with a trajectory from $80m to $500m and (2) with a combination of acquisitions, partnerships and organic growth (3) in a larger F500 company
  • Strategic & Operational Fluency
  • Industry Experience:  Supply Chain Management Software Enterprise.
  • C-Suite Solution Sales experience
  • Partnerships: Experience building go to market partnerships with 3PL and 4PL service Providers
  • Location:  Stamford, CT. Either located near Stamford, CT or willing to relocate.

Dora Vell is the Managing Partner of Vell Executive Search, a boutique executive search firm in Boston focused on recruiting technology executives and board members. Vell is a member of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD), the Boston CEO Roundtable. She has served on the boards of Framingham State, Entrepreneur's Organization, Goodwill, Mary Centre for developmentally handicapped adults, garage.ca, and RBC Capital Partners.

She has received an MBA from the University of Toronto, a Master in Computer Science from the University of Waterloo, and a Bachelor in Computer Science from Carleton. She has also completed the MIT Entrepreneurial Master’s program.
