Toronto Bank Appoints Former Johnson & Johnson Exec to its Board
TD Bank Group has appointed Colleen Goggins, 56, to its Board. Goggins is the former Worldwide Chairman of the Consumer Group at Johnson & Johnson, where she also served as a member of its Executive Committee. Before being named Worldwide Chairman, she was the Group Chairman of North America and President of J&J Consumer Products. Goggins joined Johnson & Johnson in 1981. From 2006 to 2009, Goggins was named one of Fortune magazine's 50 Most Powerful Women in Business.
Canadian Telecom Company Appoints Community Board Chairman
TELUS has appointed Claude Benoit as Chairman of the TELUS Montreal Community Board. Currently, she serves as the CEO of the Old Port of Montreal Corporation. Before being named CEO, she served as the company’s VP and oversaw the development of the Montreal Science Centre. Benoit is a member of the Order of Canada and has been awarded the McNeil Medal from the Royal Society of Canada.
Director Leaves Restaurant Chain
Tim Hortons announced the departure of Catherine Williams from the company’s Board. Currently, she serves as a Managing Director of Options Capital, a private investment company. Earlier in her career, she served as the CFO for Shell Canada. Before joining Shell Canada, Williams was a financial analyst for Nova and held various positions with the Bank of Canada. She currently serves on the board of directors at Enbridge and Alberta Investment Management.
Former Time CEO Joins Royal Caribbean Cruises
Royal Caribbean Cruises has appointed Ann Moore, the former Chairman & CEO of Time, to the company’s Board. Moore joined Time as a corporate financial analyst and subsequently served in key executive positions for several of the most popular consumer magazines in publishing, including TIME, People, InStyle, People en Espanol, and Real Simple. She was listed among the 100 Most Powerful Women by Forbes.
Viacom & Accenture Board Member Joins Automotive Parts Company
LKQ has appointed Blythe McGarvie, 54, to its Board of Directors. Currently, McGarvie serves as the CEO and Founder of Leadership for International Finance. She also sits on the board of directors at Viacom and Accenture. Earlier in her career, she was the EVP & CFO of BIC Group, a publicly traded consumer goods company. Prior to BIC Group, McGarvie was the EVP & CFO of Hannaford Bros., a Fortune 500 retailer.
ON Semiconductor Appoints Former UBS Exec to its Board
ON Semiconductor announced that Teresa Ressel has joined its Board of Directors. Ressel is the former COO of UBS Americas group and CEO of UBS Securities. From 2001 to 2004, Ressel served at the U.S. Department of the Treasury as the Ninth Assistant Secretary and was designated by Presidential directive as CFO of the department. Before joining UBS, Ressel held a variety of roles at Kaiser Permanente, including VP of Corporate Audit and Corporate Environmental Health & Safety Programs, Chief Compliance Officer, and SVP & COO of eCommerce. Earlier in her career, she also served at HP as a Corporate Program Manager.
Founder Leaves Personal Care Products Company
Nu Skin Enterprises announced the resignation of Sandra Tillotson, 54, as SVP & Director. She helped found the company and has served as a Director since it went public in 1996. Currently, Tillotson serves as VP of Seacology, an international environmental nonprofit organization. She is also the Founder and a Board Member of the Nu Skin Force for Good Foundation.
Transportation Products Manufacturer Appoints SVP of Texas Instruments
Melendy Lovett has been elected to the Board of Directors at Trinity Industries. Currently, she serves as SVP of Texas Instruments and President of the company's worldwide Education Technology business. Before being named SVP, Lovett was a VP in the company's human resources organization. Prior to joining TI, she was a Senior Manager with the consulting firm Coopers & Lybrand. In addition to her TI duties, Lovett has established and leads an initiative of TI women who are working to improve math and science education for girls in elementary through high school.
Biotech Company Adds to Board
Seattle Genetics has appointed Dr. Nancy Simonian to its Board. She also serves on the Board of the Personalized Medicine Coalition and does independent consulting for the biotechnology industry. Most recently, Simonian served as Chief Medical Officer at Millennium Pharmaceuticals. Before Millennium, she was the VP of Clinical Research at Biogen. Prior to joining the pharmaceutical industry, she was on the faculty of Massachusetts General Hospital and served as an Assistant Professor of Neurology at Harvard Medical School.

Jeannine Strandjordm, 65, notified DST Systems that she plans on retiring from the DST Board. Currently, she is a director at American Century Mutual Funds, Euronet Worldwide, and JE Dunn Construction Company. Strandjordm is the former SVP & Chief Integration Officer at Sprint, a position she retired from in 2005. Before being named Chief Integration Officer, she served as SVP of Financial Services, SVP of Finance for the Global Markets Group, VP & Treasurer, and Controller.
Attorney on Financial Services Board
CNO Financial Group has elected Ellyn Brown, 62, to its Board. Until her retirement from full-time law practice, Brown practiced corporate and securities law, most recently as Principal of Brown & Associates. Currently, she is a member of the board of directors of NYSE Euronext and NYSE Regulation, the entity that oversees NYSE market regulation. She also serves as a Director at Walter Investment Management. Earlier in her career, Brown was Governor of the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority and a Trustee of the Financial Accounting Foundation, the parent entity of the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) and its government counterpart, GASB.
