JPMorgan Chase Appoints Head of Digital for Consumer and Community Banking Division

Dr. Gavin Michael has joined JPMorgan Chase as Head of Digital for Chase's Consumer and Community Banking division. Michael served as the Chief Technology Innovation Officer at Accenture since 2010, where he was responsible for the innovation agenda, technology strategy, and research and development. Prior to joining Accenture in 2010, Michael had a series of senior technology roles at Lloyd's Banking Group, including Retail CIO. He previously held senior roles at National Australia Bank and IBM.

Apple Appoints Adobe’s CTO as VP, Tech

Kevin Lynch, 45, Adobe's CTO, has left the company to join Apple as VP of technology. Prior to his role as the CTO, he served as Chief Software Architect, EVP and General Manager of Designer and Developer Business at Adobe Macromedia Software, SVP of Experience, Technology & Organization of Adobe Systems, SVP and Chief Software Architect of Platform BU of Adobe Systems, COO of Syzygy Entertainment, COO of Triple Bay Industries, and General Manager of Web Publishing. He worked for General Magic, where he pioneered a navigational user interface for handheld communicators. He designed the user interface and developed the first Macintosh release of FrameMaker software for Frame Technology.

CVS Caremark Hires Chief Digital Officer from Staples

CVS Caremark named Brian Tilzer to the position of SVP, Chief Digital Officer. Tilzer will develop and lead teams driving CVS Caremark's company-wide digital innovation efforts. Tilzer will focus on connecting current and future digital initiatives and ensuring that CVS Caremark continues to use the most innovative technology available to seamlessly meet customers' needs. Tilzer has more than 20 years of experience in strategic business development, operations and IT, with a deep concentration in corporate and e-commerce strategy. Prior to joining CVS Caremark, he was the SVP of Global e-Commerce with Staples, where he developed and led several multi-channel digital innovation strategies.

Intel Promotes Senior Tech Execs

Intel elevated William M. Holt, 60, from SVP to EVP. He is general manager of the Technology and Manufacturing Group and jointly oversees all technology development and manufacturing activities across the company. Holt joined Intel in 1974, and was named a SVP in 2006.

Ingersoll-Rand CIO Joins Baker Hughes

Baker Hughes appointed Archana “Archie” Deskus as CIO. She replaces Clif Triplett, who held the CIO position for four years before leaving recently. Deskus most recently served as vp and CIO of Ingersoll-Rand. She also has held CIO positions at Carrier North America and Timex Group.

News Corporation's CTO to Serve in Same Capacity at its Proposed Publishing Company

Paul Cheesbrough, currently News Corporation's CTO, will serve in the same capacity for the new proposed publishing company of News Corp. Mr. Cheesbrough was previously the CIO at News International, where he was responsible for the organization's technology strategy, delivery, transformation programs and digital products. Before joining News International, he served as CIO at the Telegraph Media Group, and prior to that was Controller of Digital Media for the BBC.

HP Makes Series of Tech Appointments

HP named Martin Fink as its CTO and head of HP Labs research division. He has until recently run the Business Critical Server business. Fink replaces Prith Banerjee, who left HP earlier this year to take a job as CTO of the Swiss industrial giant ABB. Ric Lewis has been named to run that business unit for now. The interim head of HP labs, Chandrakant Patel, has been named an HP Senior Fellow and Chief Engineer.

American Express Appoints Former Amazon and Apple Exec for Software Product Management

American Express named Erich Ringewald as VP of Software Product Management for the U.S. Consumer Services business. Most recently, Ringewald served as CTO for Boku, a leading global mobile payments network that enables customers to purchase virtual goods using their mobile phone numbers. Prior to joining Boku, Ringewald was a General Manager and VP of Amazon.com. Earlier in his career, he co-founded Accept.com (acquired by Amazon.com), which pioneered person-to-person payments on the internet. He also co-founded Be, a computer company founded by former Apple Computer executives, and served as the CTO and VP of Engineering. Prior to that, he held various senior engineering management positions at Apple, including managing the Operating System Advanced Technology teams, the Macintosh Operating System team and the European Software Research and Development team.

GE Capital Americas Hires IBM Cloud Exec as CIO, Enterprise Architecture

GE Capital Americas named Snehal Antani as CIO, Enterprise Architecture. He joins from IBM where he was Cloud-Centric Platforms Architect, Strategist & Product Manager. Prior to that he served as Private Cloud Strategist at IBM, Senior Product Manager & Business Strategy Lead for WebSphere Cloud & Virtualization Technologies, Senior Managing Consulting & WW Technical Lead for WebSphere XD, Developer for WebSphere XD at IBM.
