Intelligence Community Veteran Joins SAIC
Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC), an engineering and technology applications company, announced that Robert Zitz has joined the company's Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) Group as SVP and Chief Systems Architect. Prior to SAIC, Zitz was the Deputy Director of Mission Support for the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO). In the past, he has served as the Deputy Associate Director for the U.S. Secret Service and as the Deputy Undersecretary of Preparedness for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

Steve Jobs Relinquishes CEO Role at Apple
Apple announced that Steve Jobs, 56, has resigned as CEO of the company. He will continue to serve the company in his new role as Chairman of the Board. Former Apple COO Tim Cook, 50, has assumed the role of CEO. Prior to joining Apple, Cook was the VP of Corporate Materials for Compaq. He came to Compaq from Intelligent Electronics, where he served as COO of the computer reseller division. Cook has also worked at IBM, most recently as the Director of North American Fulfillment.

Cisco Promotes Longtime Employee to Regional GM
Cisco Systems announced that Christian Martin has been appointed as the GM of Switzerland. Martin has been with Cisco since 1998 and has served the company in a variety of roles, including Manager of the Datacenter Virtualization team and Regional Sales Manager for the Enterprise Business in Switzerland. He replaces Eric Waltert, who is now the EMEA Leader of Collaboration for the Cisco Enterprise Business Group.

New CEO at Wireless Broadband Services Provider
Clearwire announced the appointment of Erik Prusch, 44, as the new President and CEO of the company. Most recently, Prusch served as Clearwire’s COO & CFO. Prior to Clearwire, he was CFO at Borland Software and VP of Finance at Intuit. Prusch joined Intuit from Gateway Computers, where he was VP of Finance & Operations. He began his career at PepsiCo.

Microsoft Loses Veteran
Charlie Kindel, a Microsoft employee of 21 years, announced that he is leaving to begin his own startup company. As General Manager of the Windows Phone developer experience, Kindel was tasked with leading the team that built the Windows Phone application platform. He was also responsible for contracting third party developers to create applications for the system. Prior to his work with the Windows Phone division, Kindel held a variety of senior roles within the company, including GM of Windows Home Server, Executive Technical Assistant, Senior Program Manager, and Chief of Staff.

COO Promoted to CEO at Verizon
COO Lowell McAdam, 57, has been promoted to the role of CEO. He has replaced longtime CEO Ivan Seidenberg, 64, who will continue to serve as Chairman of the Board. Before his stint as COO, McAdam held the titles of EVP, COO, & CEO of Verizon Wireless. Prior to joining Verizon, he was the CEO of Primeco, a wireless joint venture between AirTouch and Bell Atlantic.

EVP Promoted to CIO at Wells Fargo
Wells Fargo announced that Kevin Rhein, 57, has been promoted to CIO & Senior EVP of the Technology and Operations Group. In addition to his new responsibilities, Rhein will continue to serve as a member of the Wells Fargo Operating Committee and Fair Lending Committee. Prior to being promoted, he was the EVP of Wells Fargo's Card Services and Consumer Lending group.

Chief Legal Officer at BCE Elected to the Company’s Board
BCE, Canada’s largest communication services company, announced that Martine Turcotte has been appointed to the new role of Vice Chair of the Québec region. Turcotte started at Bell in 1988 as Legal Counsel, became Chief Legal Officer in 1999, and was promoted to Chief Legal & Regulatory Officer in 2008.

Prior to joining Shire, Kilsby had a distinguished career in investment banking and held senior positions with First Boston, Bankers Trust, and Barclays de Zoete Wedd. Most recently, she served as Chairman of the EMEA M&A team for Credit Suisse. Additionally, Kilsby has held the title of Non-Executive Director at L'Occitane International, a global skin care company.
