HP Fires CEO/Board Member
HP announced that Leo Apotheker, 58, has been relieved of his duties as President, CEO & Director. Before joining HP, he was the CEO of SAP AG. Meg Whitman, 55, has been named as Apotheker’s replacement. Prior to joining HP, Whitman served as President & CEO of eBay from 1998 to 2008. She has also held senior positions at Hasbro, Stride Rite, and FTD.

Microsoft Loses Veteran
Charlie Kindel, a Microsoft employee of 21 years, announced that he is leaving to begin his own startup company. As General Manager of the Windows Phone developer experience, Kindel was tasked with leading the team that built the Windows Phone application platform. He was also responsible for contracting third party developers to create applications for the system. Prior to his work with the Windows Phone division, Kindel held a variety of senior roles within the company, including GM of Windows Home Server, Executive Technical Assistant, Senior Program Manager, and Chief of Staff.

SAP AG announced the appointment of Christoph Kollatz to EVP, SAP of HANA. Prior to joining SAP, Kollatz was CEO of Siemens IT Solutions and Services, leading a EUR 5 billion organization with approximately 38,000 people. He began his professional career at Siemens in 1989 in internal management consulting. During his tenure with the company, he led a variety of businesses in different areas, including the Siemens Power Generation Group, Siemens Business Services, and the Siemens I&S Group.

Bank of America has selected David Reilly, 61, to be the company’s new CTO for Global Wealth and Investment Management. He will serve under BOA CTO Marc Gordon. Most recently, Reilly worked at Morgan Stanley as CIO for Enterprise Infrastructure. Previously, he has held senior roles at Credit Suisse, Goldman Sachs, and Merrill Lynch.
