Healthcare Expert Joins UPS Board
UPS named Dr. Candace Kendle, 64, a noted expert in the biopharmaceutical industry, as the company's newest director. She will also serve on the Audit Committee for UPS. Kendle is the former Chairman and CEO of Kendle International, a global clinical research organization. Prior to founding Kendle International, she held senior faculty positions at The University of North Carolina School of Medicine and The University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. Kendle is a member of the Committee of 200, an organization of preeminent women entrepreneurs and corporate leaders, and serves as a mentor for the Fortune/U.S. State Department Global Women Leaders Mentoring Partnership. For more than 10 years, she has served on the H.J. Heinz Company Board of Directors and on its Audit and Management Development Committees.

Steve Jobs Relinquishes CEO Role at Apple
Apple announced that Steve Jobs, 56, has resigned as CEO of the company. He will continue to serve the company in his new role as Chairman of the Board. Former Apple COO Tim Cook, 50, has assumed the role of CEO. Prior to joining Apple, Cook was the VP of Corporate Materials for Compaq. He came to Compaq from Intelligent Electronics, where he served as COO of the computer reseller division. Cook has also worked at IBM, most recently as the Director of North American Fulfillment.

Cisco Promotes Longtime Employee to Regional GM
Cisco Systems announced that Christian Martin has been appointed as the GM of Switzerland. Martin has been with Cisco since 1998 and has served the company in a variety of roles, including Manager of the Datacenter Virtualization team and Regional Sales Manager for the Enterprise Business in Switzerland. He replaces Eric Waltert, who is now the EMEA Leader of Collaboration for the Cisco Enterprise Business Group.

Chief Legal Officer at BCE Elected to the Company’s Board
BCE, Canada’s largest communication services company, announced that Martine Turcotte has been appointed to the new role of Vice Chair of the Québec region. Turcotte started at Bell in 1988 as Legal Counsel, became Chief Legal Officer in 1999, and was promoted to Chief Legal & Regulatory Officer in 2008.
