Google VP Resigns to Form Startup

Google announced the departure of VP of Apps Dave Girouard. He is leaving to start his own venture which Google Ventures plans on investing in. Before being named VP of Apps, Girouard served as VP & GM of Google’s Worldwide Enterprise business. Before joining Google, he served at Virage as SVP of Marketing & Corporate Strategy, VP & GM of Virage Interactive, and Director of Product Marketing. Prior to Virage, Girouard was a Product Manager at Apple in the Worldwide Product Marketing Group and an Associate in Booz Allen & Hamilton’s IT practice.

New CAO at Rackspace Hosting

Rackspace Hosting, a cloud computing and hosting provider, appointed Joe Saporito as Chief Accounting Officer. Before this appointment, he served as EVP & CFO at Carriage Services, a funeral home services provider. Prior to Carriage Services, Saporito was a Partner at Arthur Andersen. Currently, he serves on the Board of Directors at US Dataworks.

New President & CMO at Rackspace

Rackspace Hosting, a cloud computing and hosting provider, has promoted Lew Moorman, 41, to President. Most recently, he served as Chief Strategy Officer and President of the Cloud business. Prior to joining Rackspace in 2000, Moorman held several positions at the management consulting firm McKinsey & Company. He serves as a Commissioner on Tech America's Cloud2 Commission and as a Board Member of the Texas Biomedical Research Institute.

ReachLocal Recruits Online Advertising Veteran as CAO and Promotes Others

ReachLocal, an internet based marketing and advertising services company, selected David Day, 50, to be SVP, Corporate Controller, & CAO. Prior to joining ReachLocal, Day provided financial consulting services to technology and telecommunications companies. He has also served as the VP of Finance for Spot Runner, a technology-based ad agency. Prior to Spot Runner, he served as SVP of Finance for Yahoo! Search Marketing and as SVP of Finance and Corporate Controller for Overture.
