Vodafone Selects Veteran as New CEO of Australia Operations
Vodafone Hutchison Australia, a joint venture which operates the Vodafone and Three brands, has announced that William T. Morrow, 51, has been appointed as CEO. He is a Vodafone veteran and previously led the firm’s operations in the UK, Europe, and Japan. Most recently, Morrow served as the CEO of Clearwire, an internet service provider in the U.S. Before joining Clearwire, he was the President & CEO of Pacific Gas & Electric. Prior to Pacific Gas & Electric, he served as CEO of Vodafone Europe and President of Vodafone KK in Japan. Earlier in his career, Morrow held senior executive roles at OuterBay Technologies, Airtouch International, and Belgacom Mobile. Currently, he serves as a Director of Broadcom and MobiTV.

CEO Assumes Chairman Role at Verizon; New Board Member Elected
Verizon has confirmed that CEO Lowell McAdam, 56, has replaced Ivan Seidenberg, 65, as Chairman of the Board. Before becoming CEO, McAdam held the titles of COO of Verizon and EVP, COO, and CEO of Verizon Wireless. Prior to joining Verizon, he was the CEO of Primeco, a wireless joint venture between AirTouch and Bell Atlantic.

New Regional President at Verizon Wireless
Verizon Wireless announced that Jonathan LeCompte has been named President of the Georgia/Alabama Region. He most recently served as the Director of Retail Sales for the company's Northern California/Nevada/Hawaii Region. LeCompte has been with Verizon Wireless and its legacy companies for nearly 20 years and has served in various sales leadership positions. He is a three-time Verizon Wireless President's Cabinet award honoree.

Newly Created CMIO Position Filled at AT&T
AT&T announced the appointment of Dr. Geeta Nayyar as the company's first Chief Medical Information Officer (CMIO). Prior to this appointment, she served as Principal Medical Officer at Vangent, a provider of information management and business process outsourcing services. Before Vangent, she was the Chief Medical Officer at Apco Worldwide, a public affairs and strategic communication firm. Nayyar holds memberships and committee appointments in several professional organizations, including the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society, the American College of Rheumatology, the Association of Medical Directors of Information Systems, and the American Medical Association.
