Oracle Veteran Assumes CFO Title
Oracle announced that Oracle President Safra Catz, 49, will assume the additional responsibility of CFO. Catz's appointment follows the resignation of the company's current CFO, Jeff Epstein, 53. The company announced that Catz's appointment is permanent. Catz joined Oracle Corporation in April 1999 and has been President since January 2004. She has been a member of Oracle's Board of Directors since October 2001. She previously served as the company's CFO from November 2005 to September 2008. Catz also serves as a non-executive Director of HSBC Group, a position she has held since May 2008. Prior to Oracle, Katz worked for Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette as a Managing Director.

Juniper Adds Former Avago SVP to Board
Juniper Networks announced the appointment of Mercedes Johnson, 56, to its board of directors. Johnson brings more than 20 years of financial leadership and corporate management experience to Juniper Networks including her work as SVP & CFO for Avago Technologies. Prior to Avago, Johnson served as SVP & CFO at Lam Research Corporation. She has previously held executive leadership and management roles at companies such as Applied Materials, Nanometrics, NCR, and HP. Johnson has also been appointed to the board's Audit Committee.

Dell announced that Judy Lewent has decided not to seek re-election to its board of directors when her current term ends in July in order to devote more time to other business responsibilities. Ms. Lewent, the former EVP and CFO of Merck, was chair of the finance committee and also served on the audit committee of the Dell Board. She has been a member of the board since May 2001. Ms. Lewent recently joined the board of Glaxo Smith Kline. In addition, she is a director of Motorola Solutions and Thermo Fisher Scientific.
