Sybase announced that the company has appointed John Sims as President of its mobile services business, Sybase 365. Sims joins Sybase from 724 Solutions, a mobile broadband products company where he spent almost a decade as CEO. He was also co-founder, CEO, and President of TANTAU Software, a global provider of secure, mobile eCommerce solutions to enterprises. Prior to co-founding TANTAU, John served as COO of SCC Communications, a telecommunications support service company. He has also held several management positions at Tandem Computers and at Burroughs Corporation.

New CFO at CA

CA Technologies announced that Richard Beckert, 49, has been promoted to EVP & CFO. Beckert is succeeding Nancy Cooper, 56, who recently announced her retirement. Beckert joined CA in 2006 as SVP, Strategic Pricing & Offerings and went on to become SVP & Corporate Controller in 2008. Prior to CA he held senior executive positions at IBM.

MD, Pacific Region at ACI Worldwide

ACI Worldwide, developer of e-payment and electronic funds transfer (EFT) software announced the appointment of banking technology specialist James Farrell to the role of MD of the Pacific region, covering Australia and New Zealand. Corsello joins Cornerstone from HR consulting firm Knowledge Infusion where he was SVP of Strategy and Corporate Development, responsible for the organization's strategy and solutions. Prior to his role with Knowledge Infusion, Jason was a Research Director at Yankee Group, leading the company's human capital management and talent management advisory and consulting services. He also spent six years with Flextronics International, where he worked with clients to develop their outsourced manufacturing and supply chain strategies.

Uomoto oversees the company's sales, marketing, and operations for its RealPlayer, SuperPass and Helix lines of business. Departures and Arrivals at THQ

THQ announced that veteran PR Executive Angela Emery has been named VP of Corporate Communications. Emery comes to THQ after eight years at Disney Interactive Studios where, as VP, she led global communications for the interactive entertainment division of The Walt Disney Company. Emery's career includes various executive roles at major game publishers, including Microsoft Game Studies, Fox Interactive and Sega of America.

Media Software Company Names New VP & Senior National Account Executive

Chyron announced the appointment of Sim Kolliner as VP of Professional Services. Prior to this, Kolliner was the head of the professional services group at Harris BCD, a television and radio broadcast systems manufacturer and developer. Kolliner has been an engineering manager since 1977 and has worked for leading media companies including Leitch Technology, Ziff Davis Broadcasting, Post Newsweek Stations, Cox Broadcasting, Pulitzer Broadcasting, and NBC.

Brian Spiers has been selected as the Senior National Account Executive within the company’s North America sales team. He most recently served as VP Sales, North America at Digital Broadcast. He has previously held senior management positions, including Sales Manager for Canada at Tektronix and Sales Director for Central US & Canada at Grass Valley.
