Semiconductor Manufacturing International (SMIC) announced that Zhang Wenyi has been appointed as the Chairman and Executive Director of the company. The Board also announced that Wenyi has been appointed as the acting CEO while the search for a permanent CEO continues. These moves are in response to the resignation of the company’s current CEO David Wang, 64. Wenyi previously served as a non-executive director at the company, a position which is now vacant.
Allscripts Chairman on Progress Board
Progress Software, an infrastructure software company, has appointed Philip Pead, 58, to its Board. Pead is currently the Chairman of the Board at Allscripts and a member of the Board at Emdeon. Previously, Pead has served as the President and CEO of Eclipsys, a leading provider of enterprise clinical and financial software for hospitals which merged with Allscripts in 2010. Earlier in his career, Pead worked for Per-Se Technologies, Dun & Bradstreet, and Attachmate.
