Akamai Technologies announced that David Kenny, 49, has resigned as President and Director of the company. Finisar announced that Dominique Trempont, 56, has retired from its Board. Earlier in his career, Trempont was Chairman, President & CEO of Kanisa, a software company focused on enterprise self-service applications. He has also served as President & CEO of Gemplus, and as CFO & Head of Operations at NeXT Software. He began his career at Raychem, a materials science and engineering company. Trempont has also served as a director of Energy Recovery, a manufacturer of devices utilized in the water desalination industry, and 3Com, a networking company that was acquired by HP.

Applied Micro Circuits announced that Robert Sproull has joined the company's Board of Directors. Most recently, Dr. Sproull served as the VP & Director of Oracle Labs, an applied research group. Earlier in his career, he was the VP & Director of Sun Microsystems Laboratories. Prior to Sun, he was a Principal in the consulting firm of Sutherland, Sproull and Associates, an Associate Professor at Carnegie Mellon University, and a Research Scientist at the Xerox Palo Alto Research Center. Sproull is a member of the National Academy of Engineering and has served on the U.S. Air Force Scientific Advisory Board.

PCTEL announced that it has elected retired Major General Michael Davidson to its Board of Directors. His active military service began in 1969 when he served with the Airborne Ranger Infantry Company of the First Air Cavalry Division in Vietnam. Later in his career, Davidson served for six years on the Pentagon Joint Staff as an Assistant to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. He is the co-founder of CRA, a Washington-based homeland security and defense company.
