Google has elected Diane Greene, 55, to its Board. Greene is the Co-founder and former CEO of VMware. Earlier in her career, she served as an EVP at EMC and held technical leadership positions at Silicon Graphics, Tandem, and Sybase. Currently, Greene serves on the Board of Directors at Intuit.

Sari Baldauf, 55, has resigned from the Board at HP. She is the former EVP & GM of the Networks Business Group at Nokia. Before being named as EVP, Baldauf was the President of Nokia Cellular Systems. She currently serves as a Director at Daimler AG.
Co-founder & Director Departs from Yahoo!
Yahoo! announced that Jerry Yang, 42, one of the company’s Co-founders, has resigned from its Board. In addition, he has also resigned from the boards of Yahoo! Japan and Alibaba Group Holding. Yang co-founded Yahoo! in 1995 with David Filo and served as CEO from 2007 to 2009. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Asian Pacific Fund and Cisco.
Starbucks CIO Joins Symantec Board
Symantec announced that Stephen Gillett, 35, the CIO & EVP of Digital Ventures at Starbucks, has joined its Board. Prior to joining Starbucks, Gillett was the CIO & SVP of Engineering at Corbis, a digital media company. Before Corbis, he was the Senior Director of Engineering at Yahoo! and VP of Information Systems at CNET Networks. Gillett was named one of Fortune Magazine's 40 Under 40 in 2010 and was recognized as the 2011 'Chief of the Year' by Information Week.
Canon Selects New Chairman of IT Services Division
Canon named Joseph Warren as SVP & GM of Customer Support Operations for Canon USA and also appointed him as the Chairman & CEO of Canon IT Services. Most recently, he served as VP & GM of Customer Support Operations and held various roles at Canon Virginia.
Fabless Semiconductor Adds to Board
Altera appointed Thomas Waechter, 57, the President & CEO of JDS Uniphase, to its Board. Prior to joining JDS Uniphase, he served as the COO of Harris Stratex Networks, a provider of wireless transmission solutions. Earlier in his career, he was the CEO of Stratex Networks, REMEC, and Spectrian.
Leading Memory Chip Maker Announces Retirement of Two Board Members
Micron Technology announced the retirement of Dr. Teruaki Aoki, 69, from the company’s Board. Most recently, Aoki served as President of Sony University. Before that, he served as Senior EVP of Sony and as COO of Sony Electronics. He currently serves on the Board of Citizen Holdings.
James Bagley has also announced his retirement from Micron’s Board. He is the Executive Chairman of Lam Research. Earlier in his career, he served as Lam’s CEO. Before joining Lam, Bagley was Chairman & CEO of OnTrak Systems, a supplier of silicon chip cleaning equipment. Prior to his time at OnTrak, he was the COO & Vice Chairman of Applied Materials. Currently, he serves on Teradyne’s Board.
