Randall J. Weisenburger, 52 has been elected to the board of Valero Energy Corp. He has served as EVP and CFO for Omnicom Group Inc. since joining the company in 1998. Prior to that, he was a founding member of Wasserstein Perella and a former member of the First Boston Corp.
Rayford Wilkins Jr., 59, CEO-Diversified Businesses of AT&T has been elected to the board of Valero Energy Corp. He has held several other leadership positions at AT&T and its predecessor companies.
William D. Green, 57, Chairman of Accenture, a global management consulting, technology services joined the board of The McGraw-Hill Companies, Inc. Prior to serving as CEO, Mr. Green was Accenture’s COO-Client Services with overall management responsibility for the company’s operating groups. In addition, he served as group CEO of the Communications & High Tech operating group from 1999 to 2003.
Google announced that Eric Schmidt, 54 has taken up the role of Executive Chairman, focusing externally on deals, partnerships, customers and broader business relationships, government outreach and technology thought leadership. He will continue to act as an advisor to Larry and Sergey.
Agilent Technologies Inc. announced the appointment of Dr. Tachi Yamada, 64, to its board of directors. Dr. Yamada currently serves as President of the Global Health Program of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, a position he has held since June 2006. Prior to that, Dr. Yamada was Chairman of research and development for GlaxoSmithKline Inc. Dr. Yamada also served as Chairman of the department of internal medicine at the University of Michigan Medical School and Physician-in-Chief of the University of Michigan Medical Center
