ScanSource announced the appointment of Steven H. Owings to its Board of Directors. Mr. Owings is one of the original founders of ScanSource and previously served as Chairman of the Board of Directors from the Company's inception in December 1992 until December 2005, when he reduced his workload due to medical reasons. Mr. Owings also served as CEO of ScanSource from December 1992 until January 2000.
Acer announced that CEO Gianfranco Lanci quit after clashing with board members over future strategy. Lanci, temporarily replaced by Chairman J.T. Wang effective immediately, disagreed with the majority of the board on "future development," the Taipei-based PC maker. The CEO held different views on topics including the importance of growth and branding, it said. The resignation comes less than a week after the company lowered its sales forecast, which led to a four-day, 18 percent rout of the stock.
Electronics For Imaging announced the appointment of Eric Brown to its Board of Directors. Brown will serve on the Board's audit committee. He is currently the EVP, CFO of Electronic Arts, the $3.7 billion global interactive entertainment software company. Prior to his current role with Electronic Arts, he was COO and CFO at McAfee after serving as President and CFO of MicroStrategy the parent company of Strategy.com, where he also served as CFO.
RadiSys announced the appointment of David Nierenberg to its Board of Directors. Mr. Nierenberg has extensive experience in corporate strategy, corporate governance, management consulting and venture capital and public company investing. Mr. Nierenberg is the President of Nierenberg Investment Management Company, which is a long-term shareholder of RadiSys.
