IntraLinks Holdings announced that Chris Scalet, 52, has been named as a member of its board of directors. Scalet is currently EVP of Global Services and CIO at Merck. Scalet has served as CIO since joining Merck in March 2003 and as EVP, Global Services since January 2008. Prior to joining Merck, Scalet was SVP, IT, and CIO at International Paper from 1998 to 2003 and VP, IT, and CIO at MAPCO from 1993 to 1997.
IntraLinks announced the appointment of Derek Flynn as Managing Director and SVP EMEA. Flynn brings over 20 years of experience in the software industry, both in general management and sales leadership roles. Prior to IntraLinks, Flynn was the UK Sales Director at SAS Institute, responsible for the sales, operations, and alliance functions. Before joining SAS, Flynn held senior positions at a number of leading information technology organizations including SAP, Siebel and Oracle.

Nuance announced that it has selected Bill Nelson as EVP of Worldwide Sales. Nelson joins Nuance from Sungard Availability Services where he was the EVP of North American Sales. Prior to Sungard, he was EVP of Global Sales at Nortel Networks, SVP at EMC, president of Lucent's Service Provider Networks, and president of Softswitch’s business units. Nelson has also held a number of executive positions in sales, marketing, and business development at AT&T. Meanwhile, Nuance veteran marketer extraordinaire, Steve Chambers, 47, will continue on with Nuance in his new role as CMO.

THQ Secures Replacement for Departing VP
Video game developer THQ announced the appointment of veteran PR executive Angela Emery to VP of Corporate Communication She will be reporting to President & CEO Brian Farrell. She has more than 20 years of public relations experience, including 15 in the interactive entertainment industry. Emery comes to THQ after eight years as VP of Disney Interactive Studios where she led global communications for the interactive entertainment division of The Walt Disney Company. Emery's career includes successful executive roles at major game publishers, including Fox Interactive and Sega of America. She also managed public relations strategies for Microsoft Game Studios while at Edelman Public Relations Worldwide.
