COO & EVP Promotions at Cerner
Mike Valentine, 42, Cerner's COO, has resigned. Valentine joined Cerner in 1998 and became Cerner's COO in 2008. In that role, he was primarily responsible for Cerner's client organization. He has held various titles during his time at Cerner, including SVP, Pres of Cerner Mid America, and GM of US Client Organization. Valentine has departed in order to accept a new position as CEO of healthcare software company, Netsmart Technologies.
Mike Nill, 45, Cerner's EVP and Chief Engineering Officer, has been promoted to COO. Nill joined Cerner in 1996.

LivePerson Names Microsoft Technologist to Board
LivePerson announced that David Vaskevitch, 57, has joined its Board. He joined Microsoft in 1986, and has held various senior executive positions during his 23-year tenure, most recently serving as CTO from 2001 to 2009. While at Microsoft, Vaskevitch served as SVP, Business Applications Division, SVP, Developer, VP, Distributed Applications Platform and General Manager of Enterprise Computing. LivePerson announced that Steven Berns, 46, will step down from its Board of Directors after 9 years of dedicated service. He has stated he is leaving for personal reasons. Berns has been the CFO of Revlon Consumer Products.

Internet security provider Commtouch announced that it has appointed Amos Arev to the position of VP of R&D. Arev has more than 20 years of software development management experience and has spent over half of his career specializing in IT security. Prior to joining Commtouch, Arev was VP of R&D of Skybox Security, a provider of automated security risk management solutions. Before that, Arev held several R&D management positions at Check Point Software and at Comverse Network Systems.
Mobile & Embedded Systems Provider Names Prof. Services VP
Mark Whiteside joins as BSQUARE’s VP of Professional Services. Whiteside was previously COO at Vallent, a performance management software provider (now IBM). Prior to that, Whiteside was EMEA VP, Wireless Services at Marconi and Global VP of Services at MSI, General Manager of International Business at Holocentric and Director of Customer Services in Asia Pacific at Sequent Computers.

eFront announced the appointment of Eric Bernstein as COO of North America. He joins eFront from Sophis, where he spent four years as COO, NA. Prior to joining Sophis, Eric spent six years at Linedata Services in various roles including SVP and head of sales in NA. Prior to that he held positions at PaineWebber as head equity trader and at Melvin Specialists as a market maker and equity trader.

Reed Overfelt, CEO & venture capitalist, was named to U. S. Dataworks’ Board of Directors. Prior to this crucial role, Overfelt built and led two highly successful start-ups at Microsoft: a hosting provider channel business, currently generating $1 Billion in global revenue, and $235M sales organization focused on small and medium enterprise customers.
