Microsoft Greater China Region CEO Simon Leung has left the company for personal reasons. Before joining Microsoft, he was the President of the Asia Pacific region at Motorola. While at Motorola, Leung also served as SVP & Corporate VP. Prior to Motorola, he was President of the Asia Pacific region at Brightpoint and Managing Director at Tandem Computers.

Executive Shuffle at HP

HP has promoted Marc Levine to SVP & Controller from his most recent position as SVP of Finance for HP Enterprise Services. He has been with HP since 1988 and has held leadership positions in HP’s Asia Pacific region and Medical Products business.

Former PlayStation Exec Takes Over Microsoft Studios Europe

Microsoft announced that Phil Harrison has been named VP of the Interactive Entertainment Business. Most recently, Harrison was a General Partner at London Venture Partners. He continues to serve as a Special Advisor to the company. Before joining London Venture Partners, Harrison served as President of Atari and was a member of the company’s Board. He joined Sony in 1992 and has held various titles at the company, including President of Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios, EVP of Development at Sony Computer Entertainment Europe, and VP of 3rd Party & R&D at Sony Computer Entertainment America.

New CAO at Rackspace Hosting

Rackspace Hosting, a cloud computing and hosting provider, appointed Joe Saporito as Chief Accounting Officer. Before this appointment, he served as EVP & CFO at Carriage Services, a funeral home services provider. Prior to Carriage Services, Saporito was a Partner at Arthur Andersen. Currently, he serves on the Board of Directors at US Dataworks.

Former Symantec CEO Joins Microsoft Board; Former Cisco SVP Named VP

Microsoft announced that John Thompson, 62, has joined the company’s Board. Currently, Thompson serves as the CEO of Virtual Instruments, a provider of virtual infrastructure and SAN optimization. Before joining Virtual Instruments, he was the Chairman & CEO of Symantec. Earlier in his career, Thompson held senior leadership positions at IBM, including GM of IBM Americas. He currently serves on the board of directors at UPS, Seagate Technology, and Teach for America.

Google has elected Diane Greene, 55, to its Board. Greene is the Co-founder and former CEO of VMware. Earlier in her career, she served as an EVP at EMC and held technical leadership positions at Silicon Graphics, Tandem, and Sybase. Currently, Greene serves on the Board of Directors at Intuit.

Most recently, Bryant served as the Chief Administrative Officer & EVP of Technology, Manufacturing, and Enterprise Services. During his tenure at Intel, he has also served as the Systems Group Controller, VP & Director of Finance for the Intel Products Group, and SVP & CFO of Enterprise Services. Prior to Intel, he held senior roles with Ford and Chrysler.
